Make your reservations now for our Fall General Membership Meeting and Change of Watch!

We will be meeting at Lake Beresford Yacht Club on October 25th and 26th in DeLand, Florida.  DeLand is a special place and if you haven't been there, you need to mark your calendars and be sure to attend!

For our meeting speaker, we will have Capt. Scott "Red" Flowers give us a firsthand report on his world record setting Great Loop Challenge trip which was featured in last month's FCA Journal. Raising awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research, he indeed accomplished that feat in a 28-foot open cockpit center console Canyon Bay boat in 19 days and 19 hours!  Forty-three children are diagnosed with cancer each day, so his goal was to receive donations $43.00 at a time.

After our morning meeting and speaker, we will take a "field trip" to Skydive Deland where we will enjoy lunch, take a tour of the facilities and have them possibly entice you to come back and try it yourself. Their restaurant is apply named as it is "The Perfect Spot" to watch the diving events. Their menu can be viewed online The Perfect Spot.

Over the years, Skydive DeLand has been home to countless legendary National and World Champions and record holders. It is an established unique environment supporting the advancement of training for beginners and competitors. In doing so, DeLand has become the center for serious competitive teams, several of which became world champions, and a popular host drop zone for numerous State, National, and World Record setting formation skydives, beginning with the first 72-person formation in 1983. One such event will be happening when we are there.

Their normal everyday activities include introducing newcomers to the sport and serving our local and traveling fun jumpers and coaches.

Our evening will begin at the Club with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at 1730 with a Sundowner Ceremony at 1800. The Change of Watch will precede a plated dinner with a choice of roasted chicken or pork shank Osso Bucco, Entertainment will follow for your dancing/listening pleasure.
